Holly was the 3rd woman who has been married. Her first marriage was with actor Danny Quinn. They got married in 1991, then divorced two years later. Jim Carrey and she first came across each other in 1994, while auditioning for Ace Ventura Pet Detective. Although she was not given the role, the two formed a close relationship while filming Dumb and Dumber. They were married in 1996. They divorced after less than one year. In 2001 she married Francis Greco. He was a Canadian investment banker. The couple was blessed with three sons: Henry, George and Alexander Holly Greco. When she was married Greco the following year, she obtained Canadian citizenship. In 2014, the couple divorced. Holly and her children live with her family in Oakville, Ontario. Since 1992 Holly and her dad Grant as well as their families established their own A Fund at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in memory of her brother, Alexander, about whom Holly said, "He was a boy who was full of hopes, dreams, and plans. He was 14 years old when he passed away however, he travelled across Central America and Europe, was a resident of New York City, and Los Angeles. His experiences led him to study architecture and archaeology.

Alaina Suddeth Suddeth's parents are Kristy Suddeth from Rossville in Georgia as well as J. J. Suddeth. Her father, who was who is a process engineer based in Tennessee who began singing at the age of 3. The first time she performed before a crowd was with a local kids singing group. Her subsequent public appearances included a holiday destination that had the option of karaoke. She performed at churches at restaurants, in the midst of family holidays, and wherever she could within a 30 mile radius. Alaina was a singer at the age eight, took home at the age of 8 Southern Stars Pageant Talent Competition. Following that year, Alaina was invited to perform at the festival's Riverbend Kids talent stage. In the following years, she was performing every year on this stage until 12 when the competition which allowed her to perform at the Festival's main stage was taken home. Ten years ago, at the age of ten she traveled across the country to Orlando, Florida for the American Model and Talent Competition. She beat out hundreds of children in the contest to take home the crown. Alaina performed with Georgia Country Gospel Music Association's youth group. Alaina was first in Nashville in her teens. She was a regular at Tootsie's bar, and numerous other bars on Broadway. Alaina was the 2009 winner in Lake Winnepesaukah Amusement Park's WinniSTAR young talent contest. Alaina was inspired to sing by her sister, Holly Witherow, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Alaina was a Pizza Hut employee prior to joining Idol. She graduated from Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe Senior High School, which is located in Fort Oglethorpe Georgia.
